Buhl Photography - a friend of mine, Robert Buhl, remastered some of my tracks to make them sound better. He and his wife Sara run a photography business and this is thier site.
Greg Everett - a friend of mine who writes and plays a variety of great acoustic music and songs and was kind enough to add me to his
Recommended Friends page. Thanks, Greg!
David Newby - a friend of mine who's a prolific master of
ambient music. Check out his music....he's got a TON of it and it's really great stuff.
UltraEntertainment.com
- I used Ultra Entertainment's CD duplication services to physically produce my first album,
"Face Down in a Pool of Dreams".
They did a FANTASTIC job and were the most competitive in pricing I could find. I highly recommend them!
Tracktion 3, some awesome music production software that I picked up. (I have the "Project Bundle" version.)
This is what I'm using now to blend in additional instruments (cellos, violins, flute, harp, etc) to my guitar music. With this, I can even produce completely digital music, without the guitar at all, like I did on
"No Where To Go But Forward".
Acoustic Tranquility on

- This is Rob Anderson's showing on Garageband.com. His music is nothing short of absolutely flippin' fantastic...I LOVE this stuff! If by some strange twist of fate I should get a record deal before this guy (
not likely!), I'm going to hunt this guy down and drag him kicking and screaming into the studio and make him record an album. Go listen to this guy. He's awesome! Pester him with emails and tell him to put more music out there.
Josh Doyle on

- This is a very versatile artist I ran across on OurStage.com. John Doyle is able to put out some impressive music in multiple genres: rock, pop, hard rock alternative, acoustic, etc... He's very talented. Some of my personal favorites are
"SolarStorms",
"Long Distance Runner",
"Future Business Leaders of America", and
"Aphrodite".
Nick and Gerald on

- Another great couple of artists who specialize in
ambient music. Go take a listen to them.
FYI - Their piece
"Fracture" inspired me to write "Delays Delays".
Scott Gallegos on

- Scott's song
"Better Views" was one of the very first songs I reviewed where my ears perked up and I thought, "Holy Cow! This guy is really good...not just "OK", but really very good!"
This one's a "toe-tapper".
Paul Yerrick on

- I ran across Paul Yerrick while doing more reviews on Garageband.com and immediately fell in love with his song,
"So We Can Breath". I really like simple understated music and artists like this who are able to evoke strong emotions in their listeners without having to resort to excesses. This song is very well written.
Sometimes, it takes a little to do a lot...and Paul does just that with this song.
Yumie.com
- I don't normally think much of these "social network" sites (like
MySpace.com,
Facebook.com, or
Orkut.com), but I was recently invited to
Yumie.com and was very pleasantly surprised.
For me, the whole point in taking part in these sites is to get access to as many people as possible....to get my music into the ears and brains of as many people as are willing to listen.
But, I've had very little success with those "other" sites.
But,
Yumie.com has a nice interface (much more intuitive than the others), is more easily customizable, and has offered up many more people for me to expose my music to than any of the other "social netork" sites.
Literally, I signed up one night and by the end of the next day, I had more visits to my profile on
Yumie.com than I had on any of the other sites over the course of weeks or even months.
There's also a nice little bonus of getting paid (yes...you can get "paid") to participate in this site.
At first, it seemed a little like a "pyramid scheme" or something...but it's all FREE. There's nothing to risk.
So, if you're interested in meeting new people, exposing tons of new people to your music, website, or whatever, try
Yumie.com.
Click any of the previous
Yumie.com links or go to
http://www.yuwie.com/yuwie.asp?r=69645 to sign up.
Again, it's free...you could make some money at it, and you could get yourself in contact with a whole slew of people in a very short period of time.
